It’s no mystery what themes I was obsessed with during the writing of the ‘Recently’ record. Annie and I were newly married and I was living in a ton of gratitude for the gift that she was. I realized during this period that I’d always only considered the COST of major life decisions (like marriage & later, having a child), not the potential upside, the REWARD. (Have I shared that thought already?)
