With a completely different verse melody!

Sometimes song melodies & lyrics get tweaked right up til the very last minute. That was the case with my song ‘Wake Up, Wake Up’ from Snow Globe. It wasn’t until I was going in to track the final vocals with Brown Bannister, that the idea was thrown out that perhaps the verse melody could be better. So, right there on the spot, I came up with a different one, then called my co-writers Chad Cates & Tony Baker to make sure they were cool with the change before going in to record the brand new melody as the final.

Below is an early mix of ‘Wake Up, Wake Up’ with the old melody. You’ll also notice the horns aren’t in there yet. It’s amazing the difference in energy the new melody brought to the track (not to mention the horns!)
